Histovid appears from the belief that is very advantageous for researchers devoted to the history of the production of vine and wine, to keep in contact in a permanent and organized way for interchanging information and points of view. 

Characteristics

The expression “history of the production of vine and wine” is understood in the Statutes in the broadest possible sense. On the one hand, it refers to the vine in all its components (grape, leaves, etc.) and to wine in

all its derivatives (vinegar, spirits, liquors and drinks in general in the composition of which products forms a part). On the other hand, it includes all the aspects which, centrally or collateraly, the production of vine and wine presents a historical dimension. That is, it includes aspects which are agricultural, which pertain to production expertise, economic, technical, geographical, political, social, ideological, artistic, literary, anthropological, lingiustic, biological, botanic, zoological, legal, which relate to food science and metabolism etc... 

Aims

Histovid has as its purposes: 

1.- To contribute to all its facts an on an international scale the study and the dissemination of the history of the production of vine and wine in all its facets and on an international scale. 

2.- To stimulate relations between historians of the production of vine and wine of different countries and specialities, to make possible interchange and scientific debate between them, and to facilitate mutual cooperation.

3.- To channel, collect and distribute all information relative to the investigation of the history of the production of vine and wine.
